Preliminary
A.
Background
Baggage is passenger
luggage that contains goods needed by passengers that will be used during the
trip, which is permitted by the airline to be transported in an airplane. In
general, the passenger baggage of an aircraft consists of two categories
Checked Baggage: Is a passenger luggage that must be
weighed and loaded in the aircraft compartment, and will be given a label
number when the passenger checks in.
Unchecked Baggage: It is the luggage of passengers
who are permitted to be taken into the aircraft cabin where cabin baggage must
be placed under a seat or in a rack (hatack) above passenger seats with cabin
bag size limits L56 x W23 x H36cm, with no dimensions exceeding 115 cm with a
maximum weight of 7 kg. Baggage is labeled and is the responsibility of the
passengers themselves.
In addition to the above baggage there are still
some baggage that can be carried and are not subject to additional fees, namely
hand luggage on hand luggage such as:
• One women's handbag
• One coat or blanket
• One camera or binoculars
• Baby food for the duration of the trip
• One foldable wheelchair or a tool used by
passengers in which passengers depend on the equipment.

Problem Formulation
1. What is the meaning of luggage?
2. What are the risks when the flight takes place?
3. How does the barcode baggage work?
C.
Objectives and Benefits
One alternative is that
baggage is not wrong in the placement of aircraft and passengers can more
easily find luggage by making a barcode reader scanner on the trunk. The
scanner machine located on the conveyor belt will automatically sort. The
scanner separates items based on size, weight and flight number. Then they are
put in a suitcase container. Availability of baggage claim place with passenger
pass number sequence.
In addition, the benefits of barcode baggage are:
1. In order to avoid mistakes in baggage placement
2. Guaranteed baggage safety
3. Passengers easily find luggage

Idea
One risk when flying is
loss of baggage which can be caused by human errors, system errors to the
negligence of the passengers themselves. Suitcases are one of the important
needs for passengers. At present, each aircraft has also provided cabin baggage
service and check-in for luggage and luggage. Unfortunately there are not a few
passengers who find their luggage damaged, stray and even lose while flying.
Damage, loss and stray
baggage (baggage) is detrimental to passengers, need handling which is not easy
to handle passengers. Even though flights in Indonesia are increasingly
sophisticated, there are still very frequent problems with baggage handling. As
a result, many airlines have to answer.
New Ideas Offered
Baggage Handling System (BHS) or automatic baggage
system is a process that must be passed by passengers by passing the conveyor
belt to read the barcode so that the potential for error in baggage placement
will be less. If when a passenger is going to pick up baggage after passing the
conveyor belt there will be a place according to the passenger seat number to
make it easier for passengers to take or find the baggage.
.
How to pass the conveyor belt as follows:
• Once the baggage is placed at the check-in
counter, airline officers directly attach a marker sticker to the trunk
equipped with a unique barcode in the form of 10 numbers that indicate the
destination and route of the aircraft
• The baggage runs directly on the fast lane,
through an X-Ray check. After passing the X-Ray examination, the baggage then
runs through a scanner machine that will read the barcode that is attached to
the suitcase. The scanner engine will automatically sort. The scanner separates
items based on size, weight and flight number. Then they are put in a suitcase
container.
• Then the suitcase container is delivered via a
conveyor belt to the luggage container which is close to the aircraft parking.
Then the luggage container was loaded on the belly of the plane with a
hydraulic tool. Seeing the suitcases running automatically on the conveyor belt

Conclusion
One alternative that
can reduce damage, stray and lose luggage in some airports, can be done through
several stages, namely through the check-in process, X-ray examination, through
a scanner to read barcodes, then enter into the luggage container.
By implementing this
idea it will reduce damage, stray and lose luggage at several airports,
especially at airports that have high flight hours
